Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Right now, CubingHQ charges nothing. There is no checkout, no subscription and no way to give us money. Everything on the site is free, paid for by advertising. If you think you have been charged by CubingHQ, you have not been — please tell us, because it means someone is using our name.

A paid "Premium" tier is being built. Nothing is for sale until it ships. This page sets out the terms that will apply when it does, so they are published before anyone is asked to pay rather than after.

When paid plans launch

Your 14-day right to change your mind

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without giving a reason and without penalty. In Portugal this comes from Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014. The 14 days run from the day the contract is concluded.

Digital services have one wrinkle, and we would rather explain it than bury it. Where you ask for a service to start immediately, the law lets a trader ask you to give up the withdrawal right for the part already supplied — but only if you expressly agreed to immediate performance and acknowledged that you were giving that right up. Our position is simpler than the law requires:

After 14 days

Payments by someone under 18

Cubing skews young and we would rather not argue about this. If a payment was made by someone under 18 without the agreement of the person whose card it was, tell us and we will refund it in full. We will not require proof beyond your word, and we will not make it awkward.

How to ask

Email martimcubing@gmail.com from the address on the account, or use the contact page. Say what you want; you do not need a form or a particular wording. We will reply within 5 working days and, where a refund is due, pay it within 14 days of agreeing it, to the payment method you used.

If we cannot agree

Tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix it than argue. If that does not work, as a consumer in the EU you keep every right you have under the law of the country you live in, and nothing on this page takes those away.

Consumers in Portugal may also refer a dispute to an alternative dispute resolution body for consumer disputes (entidade de resolução alternativa de litígios de consumo); the list is published by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor at consumidor.gov.pt. We will name the competent body at the point of sale when Premium launches, as the law requires.

What "free" means

CubingHQ is free and nothing is being charged for it. It is also not currently earning anything: no advertising is running on the site, so at the moment it is paid for out of the operator's pocket. The intention is to carry advertising to cover hosting, which is why advertising appears as a category in the cookie banner.

If ads are switched on, rejecting advertising cookies will not cost you anything and will not reduce what you can use — you would simply see ads chosen without your browsing history.
